This blog is aimed at bringing out some of my personal observations in any country or place that I had visited. I wish to share my thoughts and experiences with my family and friends. I am sure other readers would also enjoy it.

Damascus-Syria
Damascus is an ancient city. I am told that it is about 10000 years old. Syria borders Iraq in the east, Jordan in south, Israel and Lebanon in West and Turkey in North. Damascus looks like our Kolkata or Delhi. Windows have shutters. GFTO (General Foreign Trade Organization) is the only authorised agency which imports from needle to aircrafts.
I found "Alibaba and 40 theives" restaurent very much amusing. It is in the basement of a shopping complex and the settings of the restaurent is narrating the story of alibaba.
Black Coffee and flavoured Tea are served almost every hour. People have inclination for french style and threfore Egypt and Syria get along well.
A 700 year old mosque and 1000 year old shopping complex are good places to visit. Lots of apple and olive orchards in the northern part of Syria. Syria is self sufficient with Oil and gas. 60 Syrian pounds make one USD.
